An honest comparison
Webeas or WordPress?
WordPress is excellent software and a large part of the internet runs on it. The question is not which one is “better” — it is how much extra work you are willing to take on. Here it is without varnish, including where WordPress is ahead of us.
The short answer
- you need something only one particular plugin does,
- you have a developer or an agency looking after the site,
- you want the site on your own server and your hands in the code,
- you run a shop with stock, couriers and hundreds of products.
- you want to run the site yourself and install nothing,
- you would rather not deal with updates, backups or security,
- you want to know up front what the site will cost,
- you need bookings, a menu or a gallery — not five more plugins.
What stays on your plate
This is not about what each route “can do” — both make a website. It is about how much of it lands on you.
| WordPress, self-run | Webeas | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting and domain | you find them and pay separately | hosting included, you connect the domain |
| Updates | core, theme and every plugin, continuously | we do them in the background, no downtime |
| Backups | through a plugin or the host, set up by you | automatic before every publish |
| Security | rests on how quickly you update | nothing to install, so nothing to attack |
| When something breaks | a forum, the plugin author, or a developer | you write to us and we handle it |
| A new feature | find a plugin, check it is still alive, install it | flip a module on in the admin |
| Changing a line of text | easy once you know where | click it and type |
| Site speed | depends on the host and the plugin count | ready-made pages from the Cloudflare network |
| Leaving with your site | possible, but laborious | download the whole site as a ZIP |
Where WordPress is ahead of us
Read this before you decide. If we hid it, you would find out anyway — only later, and not from us.
For almost anything you can think of, something already exists. We have 16 modules. They cover what an ordinary business needs — not everything anyone might dream up.
You can install WordPress anywhere and rewrite anything in it. Here the site runs on our infrastructure. You can drop your own HTML, CSS and JavaScript into a page, but not into the system.
For stock, couriers and hundreds of products WooCommerce is years ahead. Our Selling module is for digital goods, courses and tickets — we do not pretend it is a full shop.
Every other developer knows WordPress; nobody knows us yet. That is why every site has a ZIP export: download the finished pages and put them on any hosting, with or without us.
What the first year costs
WordPress itself costs nothing — everything around it does. Here are both side by side.
- WordPress, self-run
- Hosting for WordPress CZK 1,200–3,600 a year
- Premium theme and plugins as much as you pick
- Your time on upkeep not something you can buy back
- Webeas
- Webeas Premium — CZK 2,490 a year, everything included
- Webeas free — CZK 0, forever

You could move tomorrow
Enter your WordPress address and we map the site. Whatever you pick, we move on the same addresses, titles, descriptions and old redirects included. Your site keeps running and nothing goes public until you say so.
Common questions about moving
Will I lose my search rankings?
Nobody can promise you rankings — that is up to the search engine, not to us. What is in our hands, we do: page and image addresses are kept literally the same, titles and descriptions come along, and old redirects keep working. The search engine finds the same content in the same place.
I depend on one particular plugin. What now?
Tell us what it does. We will say straight away whether a module covers it, whether we can add it, or whether WordPress is simply the better choice for you. Talking you into something you do not need helps neither of us.
Do you have anything like Elementor or Gutenberg?
We have our own editor: you click into the page and type as you would in a document, and build sections from a ready-made library. AI will also assemble a whole page once you tell it what belongs there.
Is Webeas open source?
It is not. That is exactly why every site has a ZIP export — download the finished pages any time and host them anywhere. You will not be locked in, even though you do not get the platform source.
What if it does not suit me?
You pay nothing up front and your old site keeps running until you switch the domains yourself. If you do not like the result, you simply do not switch them and nothing has happened.
WordPress and WooCommerce are trademarks of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with any of them; we name them because a comparison without names would help nobody.
